Description
Chivàla is an idea and five friends playing an emotional post-hardcore that alternates introspective moments with explosions of almost uncontrolled energy, with choral parts with strong melodic hues.
The project was born at the end of 2017. With two EPs under their belt, several splits with Italian and foreign bands, Chivàla have collected numerous live shows in Italy and an eight-date tour with Lytic. In 2019 they participated in two international festivals: the Miss The Stars Fest in Berlin and the Ultimate Screamo Fest in Warsaw. After the release of its second EP in 2021, the band decides to focus its energies on the composition of its first LP, “Boato”, without however neglecting the live performances.
It is a tiring job in search of new sounds that takes advantage of all the musical experiences gained over the years and with the comparison with other bands on the Italian and non-Italian screamo scene.
“Boato” is the elaboration of mourning, the acceptance of the inevitability of death in a rational attempt to gather the fragments of ourselves. An in-depth research, starting from the blank sheet left to rot in the dust, in the awareness that no word can effectively convey our suffering. A ball of wool to unravel not to lose the thread of the discourse. A garden to rest, to think back to those who are no longer here and reflect on one’s own path. A desperate cry in the night. Unpronounceable words that chase each other in a nursery rhyme, while the house remains empty and the memories of the past rest in the closet.
And at the end of the journey, the realization that the only thing that remains is our fragility, a request for help that cannot be expressed, a door that closes with a roar on the darkness within us.
The new album will be released in cooperation with some highly recommended DIY labels all over the world.
